Our Stephen Ministry is back! Stephen Ministers offer care giving to members of our congregation, the community, and our families who have suffered a crisis, a loss, or are having trouble coping with life. It is an opportunity to practice our faith by reaching out to those in need by the example of our first caregiver and martyr, Stephen. Becoming a Stephen Minister requires dedication, a care-giving spirit, a calling, a little bit of your time each week depending on the circumstances, and training. If you think you might be interested in becoming a Stephen Minister, please contact Al Simmons at 236-0843. He is forming a training class for our congregation. You will be amazed at how much Christian satisfaction you will gain as a Stephen Minister.
PILGRIMAGE TO ITALY WITH BISHOP CARTER
Pastors David and Rwth invite you to join them on this pilgrimage led by our Bishop Carter. Travelers will visit Venice, Assisi, Siena, Florence and Rome while studying the Gospel of Mark and the legacy of Peter during April 3-12, 2018.
“I am excited about our spiritual journey to Italy in 2018. As we visit the stunning cities of Venice, Assisi, Siena, Florence and Rome, we will be immersed in the rich traditions of the Christian faith. We will learn more about the gospel of Mark in Venice and the legacy of Peter; we will read the dialogues of Catherine of Siena and the meditations of Dante; and we will reflect on the renewing vision given to Francis of Assisi. In Rome, as we visit the Sistine Chapel, we will consider the legacies of the most recent Popes, especially John XXIII, Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis. And in each setting we will be inspired by the world’s great art and architecture. I hope you will join friends from across Florida on this Easter season pilgrimage.” (Bishop Kenneth H. Carter, Jr.)

Invitation to Serve at Tuesday Morning Ministries: Every Tuesday morning in our Family Life Center, we serve the needs of our friends who are homeless or have other special needs. We’re seeking your help! We’re looking for those who are able to serve on a consistent schedule, typically every week, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m./Noon. – We need people who can help in our kitchen serving lunch; – We need folks who conduct the initial interviews and complete the intake form; – We need individuals who serve at our Help Desk, answering questions and following up on specific needs (such as those who need tents or sleeping bags.) Our church is making a difference in the lives of these friends, guests, and the wider Ocala Community. Please prayerfully consider if you can commit to serve with us.
